The mission of the Prince George's County Youth Council is to create an integrated service system to maximize opportunities for all youth to obtain the skills and access the services needed to enjoy self-sufficient adulthood, responsible citizenship, life long learning and productive careers. The Youth Council functions as a subgroup of the local Workforce Investment Board as mandated by The Workforce Investment Act of 1998.
Goals
The Prince George's Youth Council is committed to accomplishing the
following goals:
- To provide youth an opportunity to gain valuable work and learning experience in career fields that will enhance opportunity for future employment.
- To provide youth an opportunity to develop the knowledge, employability skills, and attitude that will prepare them to become productive members of society.
- To assist youth in finding opportunity ies for employment and the enhancement of their academic skills.
